What is yoga?

Yoga is a classical dealing with well-being in body, mind, and spirit.
Yoga is an art,a science and a philosophy. It touches the life of a man at every level,physical, mental and spiritual. It is a practical method for making one’s life purposeful, useful and noble.
Around 2500 years ago, a great sage Patanjali compiled this beautiful art that is “PATANJALI YOG-SUTRA”. Patanjali’s yoga sutra is the bible of yoga. Patanjali gave Ashtanga yoga with eight limbs to clear each and every path of yoga.

B.k.s Iyenger developed his approach to yoga based on the yoga tradition handed down to him by his teacher, Shri T.Krishnamcharya, a classical trained hindu scholar and yoga master. Iyenger gave alignment to develops better flexibility,strength,balance and endurance. Mr. Iyenger died in 2014 at the age of 95.
